Other servicesname and gender change paperwork assistanceadvocates assist clients in filling out name and gender change court paperwork and identity documents, such as driver license, birth certificate, passport and social security changes; become familiar with the court process for changing name and gender; provide information to clients around the process for legal name and gender change.Covered california outreach and educationghc is northern californias link to affordable health care. Currently, we are working under a grant from covered california to find uninsured folks, focusing on the queer and trans community in northern california. We table at community events, host town hall meetings and educational workshops.Economic empowerment programghc provides employment and career counseling appointments. Advocates do an assessment to refer to employment and career counselors.

Mission

Gender health center is a community based non-profit organization focusing primarily on the mental health and advocacy of the transgender community in sacramento. Ghc provides mental health counseling, career counseling, medical, legal, and social support and advocacy, as well as respite and harm reduction services. Our mission is to provide affordable and accessible services to those in need. We provide several hundred counseling sessions per month on a sliding-scale fee, based on income, and no one is ever turned away for inability to pay. We believe that every individual should have equal access to healthcare and basic support services, regardless of race, gender, orientation, or economic/social status.
