Mission

Out! As i want to be supports and empowers lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (lgbtq) young people and their allies in the maine mid coast and inland areas, including knox, lincoln and waldo counties. Through affirmation, advocacy, education and guidance, out! Assists lgbtq youth, 22 and under, in their journey from adolescence to adulthood.

All Programs

Twice-weekly drop-in program for lgbtq youth under age 22, providing meals, support and personal development programs. Reach 150 youth directly on an annual basis.Doubled number of gay straight transgender alliances (gstas) in midcoast schools for a total of 6. Gstas are documented to reduce bullying and harassment by over 50%.Hosted a training on suicide prevention for lgbtq youth for midcoast agencies and schools as part of suicide awareness and prevention initiative. Future community trainings planned to build supportive and valuing midcoast region.Hosted personal and leadership trainings for lgbtq youth, as well as a weekly drop-in support program, at our rockland maine hub office.
