Affirmative asylum: oasis has continued to grow our lgbtqia+ asylum program and to increase our capacity to provide holistic case management for our asylum clients. In 2019 oasis screened 412 lgbtqia+ immigrants for immigration relief. We filed asylum for 154 lgbtqia+ individuals and provided continued representation for over 476 lgbtqia+ asylum applicants whose cases are still pending. Oasis won asylum for 172 lgbtqia+ clients, the rest of the cases filed remain pending. Our approval rate remains at 100%.

Permanent residency is the next important step toward citizenship for those who have won asylum. In 2019 oasis increased our capacity to assist lgbtqia+ immigrants, representing 132 new applicants for permanent residency and we received 69 residency approvals on pending cases. The remaining cases are still pending

Naturalization: our naturalization program focuses on helping lawful permanent residents become citizens so that they can become full participants in our communities. In 2019 oasis represented 22 new clients in their citizenship applications and received 25 approvals. The remaining cases are still pending
